OLA Latino Film Festival: La Once Screening
The Organización Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island presents the
12th annual OLA Latino Film Festival, a dynamic weekend showcase of
acclaimed and award-winning recent Latino cinema for a broad audience.
Screenings will take place in the Lichtenstein Theater.
La Organización Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island presenta el 12.º Festival de Cine Latino OLA, un dinámico fin de semana con una muestra de películas latinas recientes, aclamadas y galardonadas, dirigida a un amplio público, así como otras actividades relacionadas.
La Once CHILE (2014)
For the past 60 years, five elderly women have gathered for tea once a month. In these meetings, the friends evoke a common past and try hard to show that they are still strong, forgetting for a moment the illnesses they suffer. When there are discrepancies, it is the personal stories that come out and highlight the differences of opinion. In spite of having a similar schooling, they have had to live through a period of radical historical changes. Afternoons pass and it seems that nothing in their lives changes, but they will face a period of evident transformation.
Cinco mujeres ya ancianas se juntan a tomar el té una vez al mes desde hace sesenta años. En estas reuniones, evocan el pasado común y se esfuerzan en demostrar que aún están vigentes, olvidando por un momento los males que padecen. En instancias de discrepancias son las historias personales las que salen a relucir y marcan las diferencias de opinión. Aunque tuvieron una formación común en un colegio, les tocó vivir un periodo de cambios históricos radicales. Pasan las tardes y pareciera que en sus vidas nada cambia, sin embargo, se deberán enfrentar a una etapa de transformaciones evidentes.
