The Open Studio on Saturdays is for families to engage, explore, and create art together through hands-on activities. Each month features a different theme and a variety of art materials and techniques inspired by the artwork on view in the galleries. Parrish staff and docents will be available for questions, but families are invited to work independently at their own pace. All ages must be accompanied by an adult.
Gallery Talks and Art Workshops on Sundays offer families an art educator-led exploration of three to five works of art and time in the art studio to create projects inspired by the works on view.
After School Art Workshops provide an opportunity to explore the exhibitions, discuss the works on view, and to create works of art inspired by objects in the galleries.
Art Workshops focusing on specific mediums are offered every other month on Saturdays throughout the school year. The multiple sessions allow children to learn techniques and create their own works of art.
Vacation Art Workshops are offered during the winter, spring, and holiday school vacations. Participants learn about and create in a different medium each day.
Summer Art Camp and Workshops provide the opportunity for children to learn, experiment, and create in the visual arts. During these weeks, participants study the art in the galleries, learn techniques, and create a variety of mixed media including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, collage, and more.
Family Festivals are annual events with hours of festivities both indoors and out including performances, art projects, face painting, balloons, and music.
