Painting: Through the Eyes of William Merritt Chase

Fridays, March 9, 16, 23, and 30  10:30 am–1 pm

Through the guidance of artist Barbara Thomas, learn about Chase’s approaches to clouds, plant life, paint textures, and other elements of the landscape. Participants will study Chase’s works through observation, and by drawing in the galleries and painting in the studio. Work in oil or acrylic.

Life Drawing with Linda Capello

Mondays, March 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16, 11 am-1 pm

Develop your drawing skills in five open studio sessions by drawing male and female models through gesture sketches and longer duration observation, under the guidance of teaching artist Linda Capello. All skill levels welcome.For adults (age 15+).

Participants are asked to provide the following dry media supplies: 18x24 newsprint, soft vine charcoal, conte, woodless graphite pencil (#6 or higher), kneaded eraser, and a drawing board.

Open Studio Session

Saturday, April 7, 1 pm – 3 pm

In these free monthly studio sessions, explore painting and mixed-media with guidance from painter Eric Dever. In this session, work with paint, tar, plaster and 3D objects.

For all adult workshops: Space is limited; advance registration and payment required. A cancellation up to 7 days prior to the first day of adult workshops will guarantee a 100% refund.
