Talk: Inter-Sections The Architect in Conversation

Cathleen McGuigan

Architectural Record Editor in Chief, Cathleen McGuigan, will join Parrish Art Museum Director Terrie Sultan to discuss the Museum's Herzog & de Meuron designed building. The two will touch upon how it has transformed the Parrish's program and focus during its first five years of operation; the Museum's relationship to its surroundings and the community, and how the new building has affected the Parrish's regional versus global mission and goals.

Cathleen McGuigan joined Architectural Record in 2011. Previously an architecture and arts editor at Newsweek, she has more than three decades of cultural journalism experience. Cathleen's work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian, Harper's Bazaar, and Rolling Stone. A Michigan native, she serves on several design juries and is a former adjunct professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.

Terrie Sultan was appointed Director of the Parrish Art Museum in January 2008, and oversaw the design and construction of the building through its completion in November 2012. She has more than 30 years of experience as a museum professional, having served in senior positions at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and the Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston.
